My Food Place of the Week: The Vegan Grindhouse

It was a cold Wednesday afternoon, I had finished work but had to wait around for 4 hours for a meeting, I had no lunch and I was Marvin (staving Marvin). Then I heard that The Vegan Grindhouse would be stationed at Victoria Square for the afternoon and I knew I had to try this mobile vegan heaven. I have heard so much about it on Instagram, tried their mince pies at Digmas and loved them, so with a pint of curiosity I hopped onto the train to Birmingham City Centre from Sutton Coldfield.

And how I didn't regret this decision.
I chose to have the 'Mac n Cheese', which I had seen mentioned on The Vegan Grindhouse Instagram (pure fangirl here), and intrigued that it was made from cashews. The texture was creamy, tasty, a little nutty, a well sized portion and super tasty. I especially liked the side salad but the gherkin in particular.

They have a good selection and I am intrigued to see what they will have upcoming events. I went to Digbeth Dining Club on Friday and they were one of the vendors there. They had a long queue, their usual selection and some cookies. Which I tried and they were also quite tasty.

Food - 5/5
Good selection of burgers, which I am yet to try, as well as sweet things and American stylie food.

Dairy-free options? - 5/5
Everything is vegan, so no problems here. Life made super easy!

Service - 5/5
Quick, helpful and friendly.

Cleanliness - 5/5
I think the van was cleaner than Victoria Square.

Location - 5/5
They travel all over the place in Birmingham but this was in a prime location on Victoria Square, as part of the Sketts Market.

Value for Money - 5/5
Their prices start at £6, which is great because the portion is big and had a lot included within it.

Even if you aren't vegan I would suggest you try them out. Believe me, you won't regret it.
